HS2: When will the cover-up scandal emerge?

This is getting to be unbelievable - if it wasn't so serious, it might seem farcical. An earlier blog suggested that H2S was more appropriate than HS2 as H2S stinks.

A cover up now is it.
What a load of tripe you anti HS2 protester come out with. Mostly pure NIMBY rubbish on your sites. Talk about trying to hold our nation back. Try thinking about the national interest rather than local effects that will be mitigated as much as possible anyway.
Your anti arguments are blown apart by experts on a regular basis now. Offer some better way of addressing the many issues HS2 solves and people might take note. And no, not RP2 which would end up costing twice as much for a short term fix and cause far more disruption to people and the countryside. Not possible in a signalling sense anyway for the rail capacity required including rising freight needs as well.
If only around 500 people attended your recent National Covention, that should be telling you all something. Most of our country do/will support HS2 and don't see the new railway in the same way as you protesters do. If you had the support you wildly claim all the time, then you should of had thousands of people attending.
Take note.

Thank you for your informed and intelligent comment.
The main reason why most of the people opposed to HS2 live close to the proposed route (and are therefore, in your eyes, NIMBYS)is simply because that is how they know about it; few people living away from the route will be aware of this huge proposed expenditure.
Is being a NIMBY a bad thing? Why not ask Philip Hammond about his election leaflet where his opposition to a runway looks an awful lot like ebing a nimby.
No, we do not claim to have huge support (for the reason above) only that, once people understand what HS2 actually means, the vast majority become supporters of the STOP HS2 movement.
Would you please tell us which of our anti arguments has been "blown apart" by experts - we see it differently and cannot think of any argument that has been offered by the pro HS2 lobby which has not been thoroughly torn apart by the anti HS2 movement.
You say RP2 would end up costing twice as much. Twice as much as what? As forecast (very probably, but the same will surely apply to HS2)? As HS2? Which estimate of HS2 cost are you using? You seem to imply that freight would be carried on HS2? Quite right, existing signalling would not support increases but maybe, just maybe, signalling could be upgraded... and you talk of us making wild claims and talking tripe?
I see you sign off with 'take note' - I do hope that the note you mention is not a currency note otherwise I might think that you were trying to bribe us.
Would write more, could keep on going all day, but I have important things to do such as making a cup of tea.
Thank you again for your contribution.

I'm always suspicious of the intellectual credentials of someone who says 'should of' (as in should of had thousands of people attending) instead of 'should have'. It's basic grammar.
Of course, lack of education isn't a barrier to success (lots of footballers use 'should of') but it doesn't help to convince me that Graham is worth taking seriously.
Now Graham, think (if you can) about this. The purpose of the National Convention was for 500 delegates, representing those who oppose HS2, to meet, not an open meeting. The fact that 500 people attended represents a 100% success.
Take note, Graham, or better still, take a hike.
